Course Description

This course explores the Holy Scriptures and addresses both theoretical and practical issues faced by disciples of Christ in advancing the Kingdom of God.

The Completion Certificate in Biblical Studies is awarded to students who fulfill the course requirements. It includes studies on key scriptural themes and topics explaining God’s Plan for Man. This certificate is designed for anyone seeking a solid foundation in biblical knowledge.

Course Policies

Attendance and Participation

  • Attendance and active participation are required. Discussions are crucial for learning, and missed classes may result in a grade deduction (50 points per absence).

Assignments

  • Submission Guidelines: Assignments must be typed, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, and APA-style cover page (except blogs). Assignments, which do not follow these guidelines, will not be graded.
  • Late Work: Students have a 48-hour automatic extension (excluding discussion questions). After this period, late work will receive a zero.

Policy on Incompletes

  •  An “Incomplete” will be awarded only in cases where 75% of the coursework has been completed and an excuse warrants the grade.

Behavior and Conduct

  • Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Violations will result in removal and possible referral to the administration.
  • Adherence to academic integrity is mandatory. Cheating or plagiarism will result in penalties, including a zero on the assignment.

Assignments Breakdown

  1. Discussion Questions (30%)
  • Weekly blog and discussion assignments related to the class session. Quizzes contribute to the discussion score.
  • Due Tuesdays by 9 PM (email to interfaithu.help@gmail.com).
  1. Course Development (20%)
  • Design a syllabus, develop two assignments with grading rubrics, a lesson plan, and exam questions.
  1. Blog and Participation (20%)
  • Regular blog posts on class topics. Final blog post due March 10th/October 10th (depending on graduation date).
  1. Final Paper (30%)
  • A 13-15 page paper synthesizing course materials and outlining your personal ministry philosophy.
  • Must include at least 8 course readings. Outside research is encouraged.
  • Due 30 days before graduation.
