Course Description
This course covers key Biblical Studies topics, as well as practical and theoretical issues encountered by Disciples of Christ. It emphasizes understanding and applying faith in ministry, making it an ideal course for Christian workers and ministers looking to strengthen their service to God and others.
Ministry Certificate
The certificate is awarded to students who complete coursework focused on ministry, including serving God and others. Students will learn about the role of faith in service and develop foundational skills beneficial for both first and second-year ministers.
Course Goals and Objectives
The course aims to train and support proficient Disciples of Christ through a combination of Biblical Studies, Character Enrichment, and practical ministry insights. Specific objectives include:

- Attendance and Participation
Regular attendance and active participation are required for success. Discussions are key for understanding material, and missing class may result in grade deductions (50 points per missed session).
- Assignments and Late Work
Assignments must be typed in 12-point Times New Roman with double-spacing and APA-style formatting. A 48-hour extension is granted for most assignments, after which no further extensions will be allowed, resulting in a zero.
- Academic Integrity
Students must adhere to the university's Code of Student Conduct, including prohibitions against cheating and plagiarism. Violations will result in penalties ranging from a zero grade to course failure.
- Behavior
Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Students who interfere with learning or instruction will be removed from the session and may face administrative action.
