Course Description:
This is a graduate course that provides advanced theological education, equipping students with an in-depth understanding of Christian theology, biblical studies, and ministry practices.
Doctor of Divinity
This theological degree is conferred upon the candidate who has proven integrity, character, and dedication in the area of divinity. It is a prestigious doctoral degree in Christian ministry and leadership. It is designed for individuals who have already attained a high level of theological education and experience and desire to further develop their knowledge, skills, and spiritual formation for advanced leadership roles in ministry.
Course Goals and Objectives:
The primary goal of this course is to provide instructional training and support for proficient ministers and disciples of Christ with a well-rounded understanding of the Christian faith and its application to ministry. It emphasizes spiritual formation and character development, leaders, and administration skills. The following objectives will be achieved in this course:

Gain an understanding of Christian theology, biblical studies, and ministry practices.

Cultivate spiritual maturity and enhance the ability to lead with integrity, humility, and love.

Enhance leadership skills, organizational management, pastoral care, and congregational development.

Develop homiletics, preaching, and worship leadership.

Develop the capacity for lifelong learning, adaptability, and growth to navigate the complexities of ministry and engage with a diverse and changing world.

Course Policies:
Class Attendance and Participation: Attendance and participation are required in graduate courses. Discussion will be the primary means of processing information. If you are absent, please get in touch with the instructor immediately. Each missed class period reflects missed material and discussion that cannot be made up. Discussions should be posted online for each class session in a chat window or question box.
Extra Credit: Extra credit will not be offered in this course.
Handing in Work: All written assignments must be typed and double-spaced unless otherwise specified. Assignments that do not follow these guidelines will not be graded.
Policy on Incompletes: An “Incomplete” will be awarded only in cases where 75% of the coursework has been completed and an excuse warrants the grade.
Acceptable Student Behavior: Student behavior that interferes with an instructor’s ability to conduct a class or other students' learning opportunities is unacceptable and disruptive and will not be tolerated in any instructional forum at IU.
Code of Student Conduct: All persons shall adhere to the Code of Student Conduct regarding academic dishonesty, including cheating and plagiarism, which are both unacceptable behaviors.
