Course Description

This graduate ministry course provides a concise study of the Holy Scriptures, addressing both theoretical and practical challenges faced by church leadership. It also focuses on the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Doctor of Theology Degree

This earned degree, the highest in Theology, is conferred upon the completion of an in-depth study. It emphasizes the relationship between God, humanity, and the universe, cultivating theological virtues like faith, hope, and charity. A dissertation is required to earn this title.

Goals and Objectives

The course aims to train ministers and disciples of Christ with a comprehensive understanding of Christian faith and its application to ministry. You'll develop spiritual formation, leadership, and administrative skills. Key objectives include:

  • Understanding Christian attitudes, behaviors, and motives.
  • Enhancing teaching behaviors for clarity and effectiveness.
  • Putting theory into practice.
  • Reflecting on your identity as a minister and improving your teaching approach.

Course Policies

Class Attendance and Participation

Attendance is required, as discussions are the primary method of instruction. Missed material cannot be made up. Use discussion posts or the question/chat box to stay involved in class.

Assignments

  • All assignments must be typed, double-spaced, and follow provided formatting guidelines. Non-compliance will result in ungraded work.
  • No extra credit is offered.

Policy on Incompletes

An “Incomplete” may only be granted if 75% of coursework has been completed with an acceptable excuse.

Acceptable Behavior

Disruptive behavior that interferes with the instructor’s teaching or students’ learning is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
