Our university history
Apostle Dr. Ludie L. Hoffman founded Interfaith University in 1995 to equip the Body of Christ for ministry, soul winning, and service. Rooted in sound doctrine and the fundamentals of faith, the university grew from a desire to help believers build a strong biblical foundation and fulfill the Great Commission.
Community roots
In the late 1990s, Dr. Hoffman taught local classes for college students and community members in Tuskegee. These gatherings centered on practical biblical teaching and the principles of faith.
The school in a “FedEx Kinko’s bag”
Following a call to relocate, Dr. Hoffman, his wife, their children, and a team of ministers moved to Macon. Classes met in conference rooms, with lessons copied before class and carried in a brown paper bag. The university later opened an official office and expanded its curriculum and credentials.
Correspondence and branch schools
Weekly classes and mailed Bible-course booklets brought Christian education to students in other communities. The handbook records more than 200 graduates at the first graduation in the newly relocated area. In the early 2000s, the Branch School Services Division developed to help approved churches, ministries, and organizations bring university teaching into their own communities.
A school in the palm of your hand
The university embraced technology to make enrollment, learning, grading, and student communication more accessible. Today’s campus continues that direction with on-site academic information, video classrooms, student records, and degree pathways built around biblical study and ministry preparation.
