Doctor of Church Administration

This advanced degree is awarded to individuals who successfully demonstrate the skills needed to efficiently manage a church office or ministry. Topics include record-keeping, auditing, hiring employees, and more. This course builds upon concepts introduced at the master's level and culminates in a dissertation.

Course Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of this course is to equip ministers and leaders with the necessary instruction and tools for success. By exploring key philosophical, theoretical, and practical issues, students will:

Course Policies

Class Attendance and Participation

  • Attendance and participation are essential. Be prepared for readings and discussions, as they form a vital part of the class. Missing a class results in a 50-point penalty.
  • Classes may be conducted in a webinar format.

Extra Credit

  • No extra credit is available for this course.

Handing in Work

  • All assignments must be typed, double-spaced, and formatted in 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch margins.
  • Include an APA-style cover page on all assignments, excluding blog posts.
  • Late work has a 48-hour extension (excluding weekly discussions). Submissions beyond this extension will result in a grade of zero.

Policy on Incompletes

  • An Incomplete is granted only if 75% of coursework is completed and with a valid reason (e.g., medical or military). Poor time management is not acceptable.

Student Behavior

  • Disruptive behavior affecting learning or teaching will not be tolerated. The instructor has the authority to remove disruptive students and report them for further action.

Code of Student Conduct

  • Academic dishonesty, including cheating or plagiarism, is prohibited.
  • Cheating includes unauthorized sharing or using materials during exams or using others' work as your own.
  • Plagiarism involves presenting an author's text or ideas without credit, including direct quotes or paraphrased ideas. Proper citations are required per APA guidelines.
  • Penalties range from a zero on the assignment to failing the course.
